So journal - how 'bout an update?

I haven't updated in quite some time, and now I will change that. Things have been fine, if not slightly on the busy side, but it's all good.
The highlights of the past few weeks have been trips to and from Philly, goalball and judo practice as per usual, time spent with family, (Mother's day brunch, dinners out), and other things that I may or may not have forgotten to mention. That really is the trouble with updating after the fact, you forget things. Add this to the three zillion times I've said the very same thing in prior journal entries.
Train tickets have been purchased for my upcoming trip to Chicago. My boyfriend and I will be going out together. Long story short, he is attending NIU, too, to finish up his undergraduate degree. (I really didn't mean for that to kind of rhyme like that). I really should let him tell that story, meaning he should get an LJ and write about it. Something like that, anyway. It just worked out that way. Speaking of working out - I know I haven't mentioned much about the relationship on here - but he and I met through mutual friends, (apparently two declines of a Facebook friend request [I did the declining] means a third one gets added and the rest is history). If you don't believe me, just ask him - I swear it's true. I don't really want to put it all out there for all to see, but if you're curious, ask, and I might just answer. The important thing is that we're both happy.
Back to the train trip: we leave from Philly on Friday, July 11, spend 27 hours on a train, and get into Union Station, Chicago around 10-something on Saturday the 12th. It beats a 4-hour layover in Pitsburgh from 8-midnight. (It would have been a shorter trip, but no thanks - we didn't think that would be too fun, not to mention safe). We're there until Saturday the 19th, when we take the same 27-hour journey, though this time in reverse. We get into Philly around eight-something Sunday night, the 20th. The week is pretty jam-packed already what with appointments with advisors and other school faculty and such. Not to mention the amazing Birthday bash of
c_for_chaos! I can't wait, though, it all should be fun. I'm looking forward to the train trip - I've never been on such a long trip before, and am excited to experience it.
This weekend the goalball nationals will be held at the University of Delaware. I leave here midmorning tomorrow and won't be back until Monday afternoon. I'm here only until Wednesday, the 9th, when I will head up to Philly so not as to be rushed for my departure on the 10th. I'd rather get there a day or so ahead of time and make sure I have everything taken care of before I leave them chance it and forget a whole bunch of things.
This past weekend was spent moving from my apartment to my mom's, as that lease ended, where I am temporarily until move-in date in Dekalb, which is August 4. Other things of note this summer include spending time with family as that will be harder to do after August, and I will be seeing Rush in New Jersey on July 21, I think the date is. All in all, a very busy summer. All good things, though, to be sure.
I think that about wraps up this entry. I can't think of anything else to add as it is. Take care all, more soon.
