Greetings to Livejournal Land and non-Livejournal Land. Okay, so that type of greeting works better in voice posts. Ah well, now I know.

Today has been a good day all in all. After my voice post earlier this morning, I went to bed, and then ended up getting up around nine or so, perhaps a little before. I fed Liv and did all of my usual morning stuff. I then wished Liv a Happy Birthday and gave her the new Nylabone I had bought for her, although I think she may have appreciated the bone more--dogs, I tell ya! Later in the afternoon, Kathryn and I went to the Braille Rally thing that I mentioned in my voice post. Our transportation ended up being late because they got lost. Apparently they kept calling the house, but as Kathryn and I were outside waiting for them, we didn't hear them. We just so happened to go back inside and were in when they called again. Ah well, appit never fails sometimes with people and our neighborhood.

The rally was done differently this year, which I really didn't like, but they had pizza for us to eat instead of the usual barbecue, and I definitely wasn't complaining about that. I think they should keep the pizza but just nix the format they had this year. Basically, it didn't matter what your time was or how good you were, the format was that you were handed a playing card at each of the five checkpoints, and we played poker with them at the end. We couldn't do anything to better our hand, so we were stuck with that. Because of that, neither Kathryn nor I placed in anything, but we got prizes anyway; gift certificates to some hair place that I don't have any idea the location of, but oh well. Maybe I'll use it, I don't know. I should, as it would be money I wouldn't have to put out. Maybe I'll get my hair washed, because I love when hairdressers do it. They massage your head when they do it or something, and it just feels really really nice...

After the ralley, we came back home, and chilled for a bit, until Mom drove Kristen and I back to campus. I haven't really been up to much since then, except for unpacking, listening to an Internet radio show, and writing this. Even though I had four--yes, FOUR--pieces of pizza at the rally and a cupcake, I'm slightly hungry again, so maybe I'll go eat something to fix that. I was on the phone with my boyfriend earlier, too. Liv's been laying on her bed curled up for the past while. I think she had an enjoyable Birthday, even if she did spend a good part of it curled up on my bed, so said my Mom. I sent an email to her puppy raisers today letting them know she's doing well. I can't stress enough how much we, as guide dog users, appreciate and thank the puppy raisers. Without them, there wouldn't be guide dogs. They're what shape these dogs into who they are when we get them, and that's a huge responsibility and undertaking. I'm sure any guide dog user reading this can vouch for the truth of this. I was very glad and fortunate to have met the family who raised Olivia, and I really appreciated them coming all the way from Main to walkathon two years ago. They're a really nice family, and I could tell that she was and still is very much loved.

I did end up finishing the one paper for Chinese Philosophy that I said I had wanted to get done this weekend. (Yes, it's Chinese Philosophy, not Indian Philosophy...). I was glad to get that done as it's one less thing I'll have to worry about. Most likely I'll look it over once before I turn it in, but I actually think it's really well-written, and I'm not just saying that because I wrote it, either. I don't have the two readings I need for Tuesday's classes, but maybe I'll get them tomorrow and can read them then. Maybe I'll get the grade of the one exam I took last Tuesday. I really hope I did okay. I think I did, but you never know for sure until you get it back. I do, however, think that I have found a paper topic for that class. He handed out a list, and one of the topics on there interested me. Now if I can only track down an accessible copy of the assigned reading that goes with said topic... Speaking of classes, I have my usual two tomorrow, and then I'm doing I don't know what. I should start on my programming assignment as it's due by 5:00 on Friday, but I don't think it's too entirely huge, and I'm not sure I really know how to start it on my own. I'll most likely at least attempt to start that tomorrow, at least what I can start. I have all of the necesary files copied over into the appropriate places, (that's been done since Wednesday actually), so that's at least something, is it not?

I think I'm going to end this and go rectify the "I'm Hungry" situation, because I'm really think that does need to be rectified, and soon. Walkathon is this weekend, and I'm really excited and looking forward to it. There will be so many people to see and catch up with. It's like a family reunion, and that's honestly how I feel towards Guiding Eyes; they really are like part of my family. I've been meaning to do a backdated post about last walkathon, so maybe I'll actually end up doing that before I leave for this one. It would be nice, and it's a nice thought, anyway.

Alright, I think I'm out. Take care all, and I hope you're having good days. I hope you've enjoyed this entry, assuming anyone will actually read this. I'm kidding, I know people read my entries, although sometimes I wonder just how many. My whole motivation to write isn't for the readership, but for myself, although it is a nice feeling knowing that this will be read. I'm half tempted to do one of those "If you're reading this, comment" things, but I really don't like those. Ah well, if you're reading this, and want to comment, feel free, and if not, that's fine, too. I'll be back with something sooner rather than later, you can be sure of that.
