After having to look back at my actual journal to see when it was that I updated last and reading a few entries for the heck of it, I'm actually here, updating this thing. Cortney perhaps informally requested an update, so I decided to write.
I last updated on the first, which means I have a few days to cover. The weekend was pretty chill, my not doing too much of anything besides read and do I honestly don't know what. I made an appearance on Jammin on Sunday, so that was cool, even though my Internet kept coming in and out, most likely as a result of storms that were perhaps taking place nearby. Monday was work, which really wasn't too eventful as almost half--well no, more than half--of the people weren't there as they'd taken off. I think there were only four or maybe five of us there that day. Work was accomplished though, so that's a good thing.
Monday night, a bunch of us put on a barbecue and hung around, so that was fun, even though we at times had to keep ducking in adn outside due to the occasional sprinklings of rain that wanted to interrupt our fun. It was still fun anyway, which is all that counts. At about 9:30, Briana, (my next-door neighbor), her boyfriend and I all went out and walked down to where the fireworks display was going to be, and looked--well, they did anyway--at the old cars displayed there. There were also supposedly hot air balloon rides, but the balloons were taken down beforehand, so no balloon ride for me. Ah well, I'll get to go in one of those eventually; I've always wanted to.
The fireworks display was pretty amazing, and there were lots of little kids and parents there to watch it. We chose to watch it from atop Textor, so that was cool. I felt bad, there was one family and some of the kids weren't liking the fireworks much, probably because of the noise. Mike--one of the people at the internship, and a local--really wasn't kidding when he said that probably half the town would be on campus that night. There were definitely a lot of people there. At one point while walking, we got stuck in a crowd of girls from some kind of we thought it was a music camp, so that was interesting.
After the fireworks, we came back here, and I made sure Liv was okay, which she was, definitely a good thing. I went to bed after talking on messengers and Ventrilo and the phone somewhere probably around two. I woke up around 7:45, did my morning routine, went to breakfast with Briana around eight, and then came back here and slept from about 9:30 until a little before twelve. I had woken up at eleven, thought about getting up, but the next thing I knew, it was going on twelve. (So much for that apparently). Yesterday was spent mostly reading, and I'm not exagerating. I finished a Harry Potter fanfic that I was reading, and also started another audiobook that I brought up with me that the library sent me, which is actually quite good. I also spent some of the day talking on messenger and Ventrilo, and Ather called me, as promised, later in the night when they were setting off the finale of their fireworks batch, although apparently it wasn't the finale. Either way, to
ather, as I said, I thank you for and do appreciate that you called, and the sound of that was definitely amazing, and that was just on the phone! I am sorry you got burned, though, and definitely of course won't hold that against you for not calling me back.
Today was work, which also was productive, so that's a good thing. We had our weekly meeting with the professors today, even though it started much later than usual, about 40 minutes later to be exact. It wasn't long, though, so that was good. We need to put our presentation together sometime tomorrow or before I'm guessing 12:00 on Friday, though I'm guessing sometime tomorrow would be prefferable, at least to me anyway.
Okay, so Jaws decided to freeze when I was closing a website, thus forcing me to restart. I can't tell you how glad I am to have this entry be saved, because I sure as crap wasn't going to write it over again.
I thinkork has been spent online on messengers, Ventrilo, and on various websites checking things. Oh yes, and we can't forget email, I've tended to that also. I still have to delete a lot of it, but I can't be bothered to do that now, my usual weekend Mass Delete having not been completed this weekend along with the vacuuming, but ah well. They'll both happen this weekend for sure. Peter is coming up the next weekend, so I should at least have it done before then. Oh yeah, also, that weekend that Peter first comes up, I'm toying with the idea of going to Rochester to visit
acorna_cat,
samari76, and
ajiandgigi. I really hope I can make it work. The bus fare isn't the issue, it's finding a place to stay that's relatively expensive that is.
Happy birthday to Vanja, even though it isn't really his birthday anymore I guess, and congratulations to both Caitlin on her dog, Lancaster, and Char on her dog, even though I don't know what it is yet. Also, I've gotten some requests in the past while to switch my voice posts to mp3 because some people can't listen to them. I like ogg because it's smaller, and the quality is, at least to me, better, but if you really want me to change it to mp3, comment, and if enough of you do so, stating a fairly good reason, I'll at least consider it. I do want my journal to be as friendly as possible.
Ok, now I really do think that's it. I should go take my dog out as she's rather persistently scratching at the door, and then call my boyfriend back as he's been trying to call me on the phone for the past while but I haven't picked up as I've wanted to get this entry done and let him know that no, I haven't forgotten about him, I am, in fact, still alive and haven't fallen off the face of the earth, and that I do still love him :). Yay for nice, warm/cold showers that make you feel all nice and clean... Here,
ember_fire, have an entry :). More soon, I swear.

Date: 2006-07-07 04:39 am (UTC)I've actually changed my posts to mp3, as you know and I know you know from your other comment, and the change may or may not be permanent, though I'm leaning towards staying with it...I don't know.
Take care, and thanks for the comment.

Date: 2006-07-06 06:27 am (UTC)Hope that helps some of you folks. I prefer ogg myself like Liz, but I do understand about the flash player. That can be annoying cause not only do you have to have flash installed but you have to have something that plays an ogg file. But Winamp will, so that'll work.

Date: 2006-07-07 04:41 am (UTC)Thanks for the comment. I like ogg, but have changed the posts to mp3 for now at lest, so we'll see. I may change back, I may not.
Take care, and thanks for the comment.

Yes, my day was/went alright, but I talked to you about it anyway.
Take care, and thanks for the comment.

Re: Hi, liz i would like you to change your voice post
Date: 2006-07-07 04:45 am (UTC)Thanks for the comment. I've switched my voice posts to mp3 for now at least, and I'll probably stick with that. Thanks for letting me know about arrangements for coming up next weekend, I think I'll just have to take you up on your offer as I really would like to see you and Gigi again and hang out. I'll call you at some point this weekend, and hopefully we can figure things out.
Take care, and thanks for the comment.

Date: 2006-07-07 04:46 am (UTC)Thanks for the comment. I guess some people either don't have Winamp, don't know what it is, or don't like to use it, and so they prefer mp3. I've switched my posts to mp3 at least for now, so we'll see.
Take care, and I hope things are going well.
