Yeah yeah, I know, real original subject, right?  It's all I can come up with for now, though, but subject donations/suggestions are welcome, as always.    When last I wrote, I wasn't exactly feeling all that great, but I'm happy to report that a week's worth of medicating myself has actually made me feel quite a lot better, which is definitely a good thing.  I'm not usually one to take medicine if it isn't really and truly need it, but I was definitely thankful for the two prescriptions the doctor gave me after my appointment on Monday.

Aside from that, classes and the workload both continue to go well.  Even though this semester is keeping me quite busy, I'm thoroughly enjoying myself, (and the workload, too, actually), and I'm learning quite a lot of new and exciting things.  What watching random television commercials before getting down into the actual class lecture has to do with the architecture of computers I have yet to discover, but I'm sure there's something that relates the two.  If no one has yet discovered the connection, perhaps I can be the first to discover it and make millions.  If not, I'll at least have fun trying.

I had my first test in my Ethics Philosophy class, the grade on said test being an A.  I have a test in my Logic class on Monday, two essays due in my Religion class on Thursday, and another test in my Computer Architecture class in a little over a week.  Crazy and insane, maybe, but it's fun :).

My Java class also continues to go well.  I'm debating whether or not to take an incomplete in it when the class ends in two weeks, (it's a one-credit course which only lasts for the first half of the semester), and then finish up the projects and such during the rest of the semester, or if I should just work at getting everything finished up in the alotted time.  I'm getting a late start due to there being a lack of Jaws in the computer lab, (it finally got installed I think sometime last week), and the fact that Jaws and Borland don't exactly work well together, which has resulted in my having to program via the command line.  I don't mind this, I much prefer it actually.  People who program via an IDE are spoiled with little things such as error checkers and special tools that generate the code for you so you don't have to type out everything.  When you program without an IDE, though, you can appreciate the true art of programming, for it is just that--an art.

I don't have Java installed on this machine, so I've had to do everything thus far in the lab.  I suppose that maybe I'll go over there sometime this weekend and work on getting more of the assignment completed.  Maybe I'll take the incomplete, anyway, even so, because it will give me more time to get things finished and problems sorted out, should any arise.  Part of me doesn't want to, though.  Part of me wants to finish with the rest of the class and get my grade.  That, and the one grade missing from my midterm grades will really skew my GPA which, even though I know it will be put back in the end, is still a bit uncool.  Ah well, I'll figure it out.

Aside from that, nothing too major to report.  Valentine's Day was Monday, and I can safely say that I did not put any money into Hallmark's business whatsoever.  Speaking of Hallmark, I came across this article, which just shows you how overrated Valentine's Day actually is.  Why there is one day in particular set aside to show people you care about them is beyond me, unless it's for the sole fact of making Hallmark rich.  What happened to telling people you care about them the other 364 days of the year?  Why does one day have to be set apart from all the rest?  Ah well, it is what it is, I guess.  I did send flowers, and I ordered a balloon to go with them, but apparently they forgot to put the balloon on the order, which was kind of annoying.  Ah well, it's the thought that counts, most definitely.  And yes, to echo [livejournal.com profile] djner, it has, indeed, been six months as of this week, which is a long time comparatively, and somewhat hard to believe that that much time has gone by.

Oh yeah--I almost forgot:

I found out today that I was accepted to the University of Delaware.

The transfer will be bitter-sweet, but I am happy about it, and it's what needs to be done, which is okay.  It just means this particular chapter in my "Book of Life" will end, and another one will begin, bring with it new and exciting challenges, adventure, and opportunities.  After all, that is what life is all about, is it not?  I'm not done yet, though, and I intend to fully enjoy my time here while I can.

With that, I leave you for now, and hope to write sometime sooner rather than later.
More when something presents itself.
