An update for the sake of updating
Dec. 14th, 2008 02:05 pmNot a lot has been going on as of late, but I felt an update was overdue.
Last week went fine enough. I attended a Christmas party on Monday after helping with Braille class, which was fun, (they had cookies, and cookies are an extreme weakness of mine), and I met some new people as well as spent time with friends I hadn't seen in awhile. Tuesday I didn't do too much, at least not that I can remember. Wednesday morning I went to a Bingo event put on by the same organization as Monday's Christmas party. I originally didn't know what to think, and hadn't played Bingo in forever in an eternity, but it turned out to be really fun, I enjoyed the people, and I won the first game of the day, which I for sure wasn't expecting. (They also fed us afterwords, and again had cookies, so yeah. Lol!).
Thursday I honestly can't remember what I did either, isn't my life just so exciting? I think I hung here at the apartment, on the computer reading and such. Friday was more of the same, and company came down in the evening for the weekend. Friday night was spent hanging with them, and then Saturday morning I got up pretty early and left for goalball practice. Mom ended up taking Liv with her as she had agreed to watch her for me. Liv loved this arrangement as she enjoys spending time over there due to their fenced-in yard, and she loves my mom. She'll come back to me sometime today.
Practice went well, and I'm really hoping we can still play in the tournament in January, but that remains to be sene. After practice, I attended another Christmas party, which was a fun time also. I was able to see a few friends and one of the workers who worked at the state agency for the blind when I was younger but is now retired. I hadn't seen her in a few years, and it honestly made my night when we were able to catch up for awhile.
Last night was low-key, but I needed it as it had been a pretty long day as it was. I sent a few emails out to people, and then just took it easy.
I think that's about it for now. I'm not sure I have anything else to update on, even though I'm almost positive that when I post this, something that I wanted to post but didn't put in here will come to the front of my mind. Ah well, it happens. I really am sorry my journal hasn't been too interesting lately, and I honestly am surprised that all or many of you haven't deleted me from your Friends' pages or stopped reading. I'm somewhat caught up on the Friends' page, and I hope to finish that later on today. It really does feel good to be writing again, perhaps I should make it more of a habbit. I just don't want to bore you all. To
imafarmgirl, 35 dozen cookies doesn't sound like too many at all. If it is, feel free to send some here. Haha! I haven't decided whether or not I'm going to bake any this year. I have helped my grandmother start her baking and will help her finish at some point. I'd like to bake, but if I'm the only one really eating them, I can't really justify that.
As far as the news about the internship, I really am fine. This is apparently where I need to be right now, and I'm fine with that. Something else will come my way, I just need to be patient. Yes, that can be hard sometimes, but what do they say about good things coming to those who wait? More later, I'm off to find food and who knows what else.
