I'm alive, really
Sep. 3rd, 2008 11:43 amI am alive, honest. I just haven't updated in awhile. Not much has really gone on in all truthfullness. The weekend was very relaxing, spent hanging at the apartment. I hung out with my family on Sunday and even did a little shopping yesterday. I've not done as much reasing as I would like, but I am still reading The Hobbit. Great book the second time through, not that I was expecting anything different.
I spent much of the weekend following political/Gustav coverage as well. THankfully Gustav wasn't as bad as it could have been, but still, it's horrible to think about. I haven't kept tabs on the other hurricane-like disturbances that were cropping up at the same time - Hanna and Ike - so perhaps I should do that at some point to learn of things. As for All Things Political, the republican convention has definitely stirred things up, what with it being shortened and all, at least on Monday. I listened in some last night, but turned it off. Tonight is the vice president's acceptance speech, which I do plan to listen to. The whole topic of her being picked as the candidate in the first place is something I won't go into here. I do have my views on it, though, you can be sure. Tomorrow is McCain's acceptance nomination speech, which I will be listening to as well. I also have my views on him as a candidate, which won't be discussed here either, in this entry at least.
I think that's about all for me for now. My sister and I are going to go over and help friends fold and mail out newsletters for Blind Sports Organization, which is estimated to take up much of the afternoon. Liv will be coming with me, and there will be other canine and feline company there as well as a fenced yard, so she should have fun :). More later, possibly tonight. Curse writer's block, I really do miss writing regularly...
