Have an update
Aug. 25th, 2008 10:42 pmI've been asleep for most of the past two hours or so, which is really annoying now, because I'm still really tired. I guess I needed the sleep, though, I don't know. I have a feeling my sleeping schedule will be slightly screwed because of that. Not that it wasn't slightly so already, but eh, it's all good...
Today has been fine. Nothing too exciting, but sometimes days are like that, and sometimes honestly I very much welcome that to the craziness that has a habbit of being my life, at least lately. I hung at the apartment in the morning and in the afternoon helped out with the weekly Braille class, which I enjoyed. I came home, fed and took care of the dog, ate a slight snack, laid down until seven or so whereupon I fell asleep, took the dog out again, and laid down/slept some more. Reading was intersperced with the sleeping, so it's all good. I'm currently reading The Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger. I've heard from people that they like it and also from others that they don't. I myself am in the former category. I think a lot of people may have read the book in high school, but I didn't, and so am picking it up now, way after the fact.
I forgot to mention anything about the trip to the beach my family and I took two weekends ago I think it is now. I really enjoyed myself, and it was good to spend time with my mom and grandparents and just relax. We went fishing, and I caught a 23-inch long flounder, which we did keep and I think will be eating some night this week. There are pictures of me holding the fish, and once I can have one sent to me, I'll be sure to post it for peoples' viewing pleasure. Needless to say, I was really surprised that I caught a keeper, and now I've set the record for future fishing trips for people to try and beat. I did get to go to the ocean for a little bit, which I was glad of as it had been some time since I'd gone there. It wasn't the exact beach that I wanted to go to, but it was close. We did go to the beach that I wanted to go to, but we stayed on the boardwalk and didn't venture down to the ocean. Even so, I really did enjoy my trip.
While down at the beach, I watched some of the Olympics, including Michael Phelps' seventh and eighth gold ledal wins. It was really amazing to see him do that, and I was really excited for him. He wasn't arrogant or bragging or anything but really modest, which I also liked.
Aside from that, not too much really. I went to the Deer Park last night for the first time in awhile to see one of my favorite local bands play, and it was really good to go there again. I really want to go more often as I'm use to doing that and the summer months kind of put an end to my regularity of that. The band has gotten new members recently, but that hasn't changed their sound, which I was glad of.
I think that's about all from here. I should think about eating some sort of dinner, even though I'm not necessarily in the mind frame of eating that. Take care all, more soon.
