April 20

It's almost not today anymore, so perhaps I should write while it still is.

Today was actually a very nice day, (yay for my inability to come up with interesting adjectives tonight--I'm sorry). I didn't have class, which is always nice. I met with my advisor this morning, and I know what I'm taking as far as CS courses go. I sent an email to my Philosophy advisor, so hopefully he'll get back to me soon on what courses he recommends I take for that major as well. I'm slowly resigning myself to the fact that I might have to stay here an extra year, but so it goes. I'm not exactly too thrilled about that--I'm not actually thrilled at all if you want to know the truth--but such is life. I don't exactly know how the financial piece will work out, but I guess that'll be figured out in due time. If the state agency can help at least pay for some of it, that would be nice. I really love my new advisor though, she's awesome and willing to help me, so yay to that.

Aside from the meeting with my advisor, Peter came down today, and so we pretty much hung out the whole day. It was definitely enjoyable, and he got to meet my one friend Alison, so that was nifty. I even got to buy him dinner, which was cool, although it took some convincing on my part, although not too much :). I dunno, I believe that relationship sgo two ways, and both people should share in the expenses. Something like that, anyway.

Before we went to dinner, (Russell carryout), I had to do a short Jaws demo presentation at the library for an education class. Peter actually went with me, which at first was slightly wierd--I don't know--and despite the fact that he said he'd just stand there and ask very stupid and obvious questions--which he didn't--the presentation went well. The students asked me some very intelligent questions, and it generally went over well, at least I thought so. Peter also got to see the library, which really I guess isn't all that fun and exciting, and he said it was huge, which I guess it is in some respects. It's a nice library, though.

After dinner, Alison and I walked Peter part way to the train station before turning around and heading to a Bingo event put on by the Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender student organization group on campus. Each game cost $1, and you got three chances to win with each game. Even though neither Alison nor I won, although we came close, and apparently Alison did win though she didn't notice until after the fact and somebody else won, we had fun. There were some very interesting prizes though.

That brings me to now, sitting here writing this. I should at some point go let Liv out and then grab a quick shower myself before bed sometime soon. I'm slightly tired at the moment, and think an early bedtime might actually be a good thing. I have class tomorrow as usual, and I have no clue what else. Whatever ends up happening, I'll be sure to write about it. I don't have Mobility because my instructor is out of town, so that's one thing I don't have to do tomorrow.

With that, I think I'm done. I can't think of anything else to add to this. More later.

Edit: I actually can think of something to add to this. I heard from the people organizing the Seattle converence yesterday, and travel arrangements have been made. I'll be leaving on July 25 at around 11:05 or some such AM from Philly, and getting into Seattle around four. While the flight isn't nonstop, there's a layover for I don't know how long in Saint Paul, Minnesota, (I originally thought it was Phoenix, but that was another flight option that we didn't go with), it works more or less. There was a nonstop flight, but it would put me in Seattle at nine PM their time while leaving at almost six PM Eastern. I fly back on Saturday, the 29 of July, (yay for not having to leave on Friday, seriously), at 8:05 in the morning Seattle time, and stop in Las Vegas before getting into Philly at I can't remember what time, although maybe it was 7:30? I plan to at least put one nickel in the nickel slots in the airport, if only to say that I have, indeed, gambled in Las Vegas. Airports count right? We only have a 38 or so minute layover, but I plan to find a slot and put a nickel in it if it kils me, just because I can. Since Peter is going to that conference also, we managed to call the travel agent today and we have the same flights, which should be fun and exciting. I wonder if he can put up with me for that long in an airplane? :D. Hopefully Liv will be able to deal with it, although I have a feeling she will. I sort of failed to mention to the travel agent dude that I had a guide dog, but maybe I should email him and mention that. As long as I can hopefully get a window seat, we'll be good. I like those much better than bulkhead, and Liv can fit under them nicely, so she isn't taking up space or making anyone lose legroom, at least I don't think so.

Wow, talk about a slightly long, elaborated edit. I think I'm really done now, honest.
