It's about time I come in here and write something of substance not only for myself, but for all of my readers and fans out there, that is if I have any left. As the house is peacefully quiet, for the moment anyway, I figured now would be as good a time as any to do just that.
The past week or so has been fine; classes were attended, work done, and things accomplished, and I am now on Spring break for the next week, definitely fun and exciting for sure. I'm not going anywhere exotic or non-exotic for a vacation or anything, I'm just here at home, which is fine with me. I plan to get much pleasure reading done as well as work ahead for school. I'm not too sure what other plans entail, but I'm sure I'll think of something.
It's been almost a week since I wrote anything, (my two test entries and the wanna-be-entry-but-not-exactly entry of yesterday don't really count), so now it's time to play catch-up as concisely and in as few words as possible because I refuse to ramble on and on incoherently about nothing whatsoever and bore all of you to tears.
I forgot to mention in my phone post of last Sunday that said day was my Mom's birthday. I called her in the morning to wish her Happy Birthday, (and said call was actually local, not from however many miles away--200 maybe? I'm bad at mileage...it's four or so hours by car give or take time for traffic), and the family celebrated later that day with dinner at the grandparents' which was pizza, I think obtained from Seasons. Kristen actually bought my mom a card, but the unfortunate thing was that on the card, she made my mom a whole year older than she really was. Once that was discovered, I at least found that highly amusing, and had to laugh. We perhaps remedied that by saying that she is actually living one year later than she actually is, (for example, I'm 21, but in my 22nd year of life), so I think it did work out in the end.
Last week was class as usual, and from what I can remember about it, nothing too exciting occurred, (yay for these retrospective entries, I don't like them really). I had two tests this past week, one on Wednesday being my Modern Philosophy midterm and the second being yesterday, my Indian Religions midterm. Both professors were kind enough to agree to email me the tests so that I could just do them at my own computer in my dorm, which is what I did. It's just easier than scheduling them with the ADA office and having to go there that, and I'm familiar with my computer and technology, so it makes things easier to deal with. Crap, now that I think about it, I forgot to schedule a test with the ADA office for the Wednesday I get back from break. Maybe I could send the director an email explaining the deal, I don't know. Working in the Ithaca Disabilities office and having kids call the day before to schedule a test, I honestly can't stand that I just did that myself, for real! Ah well, I can't worry about it, (I shouldn't anyway), I'm sure things will work out.
What else to update on? Ah, yes! I found out yesterday that I got accepted into the Ithaca internship program, (I never did explicitly say in the journal that although I made it to the interview stage of the AAPD internship, I didn't actually make it in--their loss, not mine), and I've accepted after finding out that the costs should be pretty much taken care of and what I'd most likely have to pay would be minimal, so that should be interesting. I'm actually in the process of writing the email now back to the professor who runs it. All I have now is
jaredst1, which should definitely be interesting. The flight to and from should be long, but I'm sure I'll be able to handle it. Liv is an expert on planes by now, so I think she'll be fine with it also.
With that, I think I'm out. I should probably get out of here and start being productive as I do have plans for this afternoon. Peter is going to come down from Philly, and we'll hang out here and watch Rent, which I haven't seen, so it should be fun. I live in a very wierd neighborhood that's very interesting to try and figure out how to get to and even around once you do manage to get here, so it should be interesting if he actually makes it here. I'm kidding, but I do hope things turn out okay and nothing too "interesting" happens, but you never know when you're traveling. I honestly think that traveling+blind/visually impair person = something is sure to happen to make said trip more interesting and "exciting" than otherwise, it's happened to me countless times. I actually like when such things happen, it adds an extra flare to things that wouldn't normally be added. Something like that, anyway. Ya just gotta love adventure.
With that, I'm seriously out, (yay for random tangents?). It's good to be writing again, and there's something about writing from home somehow makes it all the more special and meaningful to do. I don't exactly know what that is, but it works, so I'm just going to go with it. More soon guys, I swear.

I will gladly accept my position into the REU program for the summer.I should probably put more into that and finish it at some point soon. Aside from that internship this summer, I'm also going to an all-expenses-paid 3-day technology conference in Seattle for blind/visually impaired high school and college students as well as professionals in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. That should be pretty enteresting, and I'll get to meet
